Jorge is a bright and handsome boy from Belize with spina bifida who is remarkably active and mobile. With three surgeries behind him, he came to Shriners Hospital to see if he would benefit from more surgical treatment to improve his gait. After extensive evaluation, the medical staff at Shriners decided to try new braces as opposed to surgery. Everyone, including Jorge, was thrilled with the dramatic improvement after one week with the braces ... and Jorge delighted us all by running up and down the hallways of the hospital!
