Two-year-old Luis came to St. Louis from his home country of El Salvador looking bluish and lethargic. He was born with a congenital heart defect that was life threatening. Luis arrived in St. Louis in February 2010 and received open heart surgery at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. Over the next two months, his recovery and transformation amazed everybody that knew him before and after the surgery, including the staff at HavenHouse who fell in love with his sweet personality. Almost three months later, a healed Luis and his happy mom, Delmy, went back home to start enjoying a normal routine they never knew before.
